Mark Your Calendars: National Walking Day is April 3

National Walking Day, celebrated the first Wednesday in April (April 3 this year), was established by the American Heart Association to encourage people to move more throughout the day.

1 in 4 U.S. adults sits for longer than eight hours each day, which can have negative consequences on physical and mental health. Regular exercise improves mood, boosts energy and can even help you sleep better.

Walking transcends mere exercise—it’s an opportunity to bond with those around us. This National Walking Day, extend an invitation to a friend, colleague, or loved one to join you at the Denver Heart Walk on June 1.

Join the movement for heart health by registering for the Denver Heart Walk. Visit www.denverheartwalk.org to start a team.
